Last night, we coordinated a fantastic 40th birthday party in Leesburg, VA. And fastastic is definitely the word because the theme was Willy Wonka!! An abundant candy display was the centerpiece of the event and a chocolate “river” fountain flowed all evening while specialty drinks and magaritas encouraged a sweet tooth. Many thanks to Chef Kevin and his team who really set the scene. To top it all off, a photo booth and a dancing heads machine kept the guests entertained all night.

Last weekend, we coordinated another gorgeous wedding at Historic Whitehall Manor in Bluemont, Virginia. We absolutely love working there! Celebrations Catering always does a fantastic job and the venue is perfect for a couple who wants their guests to truly experience the beautiful Virginia countryside. The nature theme for this wedding was really fun especially since the bride & groom met each other on a nature hike. Their place cards were river rocks, the tables were named after National Parks and the cake stand was carved from a tree stump! Connie Schweizer wowed us with her extremely realistic fall leaf wedding cake and Martha FitzSimon captured every detail. The party went well into the night led by Kirkabee DJs. Outstanding!!!

We had the pleasure of working at the W Washington DC this past weekend. What a cool and funky place! Their decor is modern art deco and very chic. Sarah Petermann, our on-site manager, was extremely helpful as was all of their staff. Taking care of their client was definitely a priority. And of course, cocktails on the rooftop Altitude Terrace are a must when having an event at the W! The guests enjoyed the one-of-a-kind views of DC from this vantage point. The flowers from L’Artisan Lily were absolutely gorgeous and looked fantastic against the backdrop of the W. Also, we really enjoyed working with photographers Tatiana Breslow and Dante Williams who came in from NY for the event. Not only were the photographers from out of town, but the bride and groom were in from California. Planning a wedding long distance can be challenging but we were there to make everything less stressful and beautiful for them. The day went very well and we look forward to our next event at the W!

Spring and Summer are right around the corner – thankfully!!!  With warmer days, our outdoor events will swing into action.  Last year, this event, held at a private estate in Marshall, VA, was the hightlight of our summer weddings.   Lemonade and Iced Tea Coolers relieved guests from the heat.  Charming rough-hewn directional signs led them through the property to the various event sites.  Decor by Capital Party Rentals and Bergerons Flowers made the tented reception a perfect fit with the green and brown surroundings.  Looking ahead, we’re eager to repeat such a fun day!
